Howdy! I'm Nic Taylor, and I am a twenty-one-year-old author from rural North Carolina! I'm currently an undergraduate student at William Peace University, located in Raleigh, NC, and majoring in English and Writing. I plan on going to graduate school for communication studies with a concentration in fan studies. My favorite things are short stories, gardening, and talking about the internet. I also love being from North Carolina, creating recipes, travelling abroad, and reading about bad people doing bad things.

My creative portfolio, primarily short stories and poetry, explores the roles that women are expected to play in interpersonal relationships, unconventional coping strategies for mental illness, and the choices young girls make to feel alive. Academically, my professional work focuses on leadership and feminist studies, with future projects in fan studies. I also work in marketing, having previously represented William Peace University's Honors Program through a communications apprenticeship, and I currently serve as the communications and outreach intern for Full Marks. My work has been presented at the National Conference for Undergraduate Research (NCUR 2026), at NC Campus Engagement conferences, and in the PRISM Literary Magazine at Peace University.
